	Paddle in Sörmland In this area you will find a beautiful landscape with both wild nature and a welcoming countryside. In the middle of this area you find the lake Båven. It is one of a few of it's kind in the southern part of Sweden. Here the water is clear and the many islands with wild nature have very few visitors. The unexploited wilderness gives you the opportunity to se many wild animals in their natural environment. Such as the moose, the roedeer along with rare birds. Each year the ospreys and the loons come back to their nests. A canoe trip in this area might be a great adventure for you who appreciate beautiful landscape and scenery. But don't forget to show it respect and tenderness. The area of Båven is connected with a wide system of lakes and streams. It offers several tour alternatives of different length and degree of difficulty. Together more than 500 km length. The county of Sörmland is not yet discovered by a lot of tourists. So when canoeing in this area there are good possibilities to find your own campsite and enjoy the great feeling of having the nature all by your self. Imagine the peace and quiet when the sun sets and the only company you've got is the loon heard in a distance.
	The starting point for 5 of the tours is at the Outdoor-Centre (FriluftCenter) in Skebokvarn. It was est. 1976 by Ann and Anders Hansson and is since 2002 operated by Per Hallenborg. Here you we will do our best to help you making a successful trip with your canoes Explanation of the tours This we can send you in advance. It is a help for you in planning the tour. The maps in it gives you a broad picture of the structure of the tour you have chosen. Beside this description you will need a topographic map to be able to find your way properly. You can buy these topographic maps at the Centre. Canoes We have 40 Canadian canoes and45 kayaks for rent. The Canadians are the Linder 525 alu. These are big enough for 2 - 3 people and package (Loading capacity - 400kg). When renting canoe the paddles and life vests are included of course.
	Equipment We have most of what you need for outdoor living. You can rent the tent, sleeping bag, cooking utensils and so on. Take a look at the price list for further information. Transports If you start or end the trip elsewhere, we can help you with the transport back to the base. When using this service you will not have to leave our own car out in the bush without control. The parking at Friluftcenter is free. The cost for transportation depends on the number of canoes and distance.
	To eat Friluftcenter has it own candy store and café where you also can have a sandwich or an ice cream. Information At Friluftcenter we keep you informed about rules and conditions in the area. Are there areas that are restricted or closed? Is it allowed to make a fire and how should it be done? Are there other information from our staff or from landowners that you need to know about? The Swedish "allemansrätt" gives you a great freedom when visiting the nature but also a responsibility to be informed and act properly.
